Please complete this self-evaluation form and e-mail your answers to your teacher.

Module 1: Assignment 2
You probably already know that anything you see here that is coloured and underlined is a link to a site on the Internet. There are links to several sites here to help you with this course. This link is to a  PowerPoint Presentation created to tell you all about this course.

Please answer the questions on slide #25 regarding this course and send them to your teacher as an e-mail attachment.

Module 1: Assignment 3
We need to work as a team in this class. Please view the slide presentation about Team Work . Now write a paragraph about your expectations for this CPT course. Module 1: Assignment 4
Reflect on the role and effect of broadcast communication in our daily lives. We need to recognize the types, function, role and application of communication production technology in broadcast communications. We need to develop a vocabulary of terms associated with communication production technology.

Your task is to create a mindmap about the communication production technology industry. Your mindmap will outline these important concepts: What categories of products and services are included in the  communication production technology sector? What kind of equipment is utilized in broadcast communications?
What careers do you find associated with these industries? What skills do people in this industry require? or have?

Research the answers to the above questions. You will find some Internet sites listed below. You should print this mindmap and then write your answers on it. Put your name and today's date on it and hand it in. [NOTE: Print Two Mindmaps as you will hand-in an updated version the last week of class].

          You could go on-line to
            < http://www.google.com > or < http://www.aj.com > or
< http://www.altavista.com > and ask: where you could find
               information about Broadcast technology.

Module 1: Assignment 6
There is one major project in CPT Survey 10, based on many smaller projects, assignments and
quizzes. The project is to create a web site that will consolidate all of your assignments. Incorporated within this project will be what you learn and understand about the communication production technology industry. You will be saving all your work in a portfolio . This portfolio will be on the computer and all your files will become WebPages or a part of a WebPage.
You need to visit at least two of the sites listed below for information about what constitutes a good WebPage. You should download this page a pdf   - Adobe Acrobat file. http://www.webpagesthatsuck.com/suckframe.htm

(lists 6 steps to follow to create a good WebPage)

Create a mindmap (concept map) about what constitutes a good web page. Use the information gleaned from the pages listed above. You should check with a partner to ensure that you both have the main points listed.

You may use any webbing program that you have access to such as the Inspiration program or Mindmanager. If you do not currently have such a program on your computer you may download one from this site .

Module 1: Assignment 7

Time to start your own page. Open Netscape by clicking the Icon in your dock.

This program is very  much like a wordprocessing program. You can get more Netscape information from the sites listed below or by clicking here . You are to create several webpages: they will explain what this course is all about.  You will find your information in many sources. The first web page should include a title (plus course name, grade level, your name, instructors' name). Create a table of contents that includes six headings: (CPT (saved as index), video, stages of production, shots, editing, glossary, journal) [See sample to right] The table of contents must be on each page. Create a webpage for each of those headings and link to each page from the main page. Also, link from each of those pages back to the main page. Netscape Composer Tutorial
